About me
We all regularly go through phases in life when we like to sort things out. What I wore in my 30s simply no longer suits me in my 40s, even if it is a timeless fashion item.
When I became a mom, my everyday life changed abruptly, and with it the demands on my wardrobe. I used to change my outfits regularly for work or going out. With a baby in my arms, my outfits just had to be comfortable.
So suddenly I was faced with a mountain of designer clothes in mint condition that were too valuable to throw away. But lugging them to second-hand stores in Zurich and the small amount of money I would get for them demotivated me. I realized that many of my friends were in the same situation: the effort required to give a used fashion item a second life had to be minimal, and the proceeds had to be worthwhile. That's how my idea for a marketplace for premium and luxury fashion came about.
During this phase, however, prices for luxury items began to skyrocket without any added value in terms of quality. Luxury fashion became affordable for fewer and fewer consumers.
If you can't afford the Bottega Veneta “Jodie” in the boutique for CHF 2,500, then it's second-hand—but still as good as new—and for CHF 1,200, perhaps within reach...?
For me, “pre-loved” also means giving consumers access to affordable designer fashion again.
With LOOP, luxury fashion makes sense again in terms of price, and you can consume it with a good conscience.
I am proud to be able to help shape the significance and positive change in values of “second-hand luxury” with LOOP.
Because the companies we found today and the jobs we create today determine our consumption tomorrow.
